Renowned U.S. business schools such as Harvard or the University of Chicago still dominate the rankings and look back on a long history. Europe, however, is catching up quickly and is nowadays offering a large variety of MBA programmes of excellent quality. This article gives an overview of some of the top business universities in Europe offering English-taught MBAs.

1.  ESMT Berlin, Germany

Founded by leading companies and institutes, ESMT Beriln  is located right in the centre of Germany’s bustling capital. ESMT Beriln regularly appears in the tops of international MBA rankings and has an excellent reputation. Besides an MBA and an executive MBA programme, the school also offers open enrollment and customized executive education programmes.

2.  Erasmus University of Rotterdam, Netherlands

With the Erasmus University, also a Dutch university made it among the top business schools in Europe. Their full-time programme has been consistently ranked around the Top 30 programmes worldwide and Top 5 in Europe. The Erasmus University is especially known for its experimental learning environments by living management and the Personal Leadership Development (PLD).

3.  IE Business School, Spain

IE Business School is another renowned business school from Spain that regularly ends up in the Top 20 of international MBA rankings. 4.  INSEAD Business School, France

Like FT, the Economist ranks business schools every year. They also survey graduates; salary development plays a smaller role than in the FT ranking, but is still important. The larger focus is put on the academic and student life experience as well as how graduates thought the MBA degree enabled them to pursue the career options they were hoping to get.

    The Most Affordable 1-year MBA Programs in Europe

    What sets apart Europe as an attractive destination for MBA aspirants is that the continent has some of the most affordable 1-year MBA programs with the added advantage of smaller classes, much more international diversity than in the U.S.

    Of course, Europe also has its share of expensive elite B-schools. The most affordable MBA programs are listed below.

    The Switzerland-based EU Business School has campuses in Geneva, Montreux, Yvorne, Barcelona and Munich. It offers specialised programs in marketing, finance, e-business, sports management, leisure and tourism and HR.

    21 September Deadline – IMT 1 Year MBA

    Participants have a choice of studying in any of the six campuses in Berlin, London, Madrid, Paris, Turin and Warsaw. They will also be in a study exchange at a partner school in China or India.

    Tuition fees range from $13,000 to $16,000, depending on the campus. About 39% of the graduates find employment with large multinationals while 21% start their own business.

    The Maastricht School of Management (MSM), the Netherlands, located in the heart of Europe, within easy access of Amsterdam, Brussels, Cologne, Frankfurt, London and Paris offers a full time MBA program for $32,000 as tuition fees.

    IIM Udaipur 1 Year MBA – Admissions Open

    It has also introduced a Managing the digital economy specialization from the batch starting September 2017 that includes courses in cyber security, big data analytics and the Internet of Things (IoT).

    At $34,000 tuition fees, you have a choice of no less than four schools. These are ESCAP Europe, International University Monaco (IUM), the University of Edinburgh Business school, UK and MIP Politecnico di Milano, Italy.

    Escap Europe, founded in 1819, prides itself as the world’s first business school. It has introduced a new program in International Management (formerly Master in European Business).

    Participants have a choice of studying in any of the six campuses in Berlin, London, Madrid, Paris, Turin and Warsaw. They will also be in a study exchange at a partner school in China or India.

    The International University of Monaco (IUM), offers an intensive, 10-month full-time MBA program with specializations in finance, luxury management and entrepreneurship and innovation.

    It has a 20-25-member class. While 80% of the students land new jobs within three months of graduation, 25% go on to start their own businesses.

    21 September Deadline – IMT 1 Year MBA

    The University of Edinburgh Business School, UK, has a 12-month full-time MBA, with the option of an international exchange. Within three months of graduation, 88% of the class had accepted a job.

    MIP, among the leading engineering universities in Italy, is attractive for tech-savvy MBAs. It also maintains strong corporate links with top firms like Amazon, Microsoft and the Boston Consulting Group.

    In the employment scenario too, 97% of the graduates found jobs within six months. Those looking for entrepreneurship roles have access to PoliHub, the school’s in-house startup incubator.

    The Lancaster University Management School, UK with a fee of $36,000 has a maximum 50-student intake. With more than 20 nationalities represented every year, 94% of MBA students find employment within six months of graduation, with an average salary increase of 88%.

    The Netherlands based Nyenrode Business Universiteit and Bath School of Management, UK have pegged their tuition fee at $42,000.

    Nyenrode, located on a 13th-century estate 30 minutes drive south of Amsterdam, focuses its MBA program on Europe. Immersion visits to five European capitals – Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Paris and Milan – are integrated into the program. With a 45-member class size, it also has 50% female presence.

    The Bath School attracts a more experienced student. This year’s MBA class have an average of 15 years work experience The class is 90% international and 43% female. 98% of Bath MBAs land jobs within six months of graduation.

    The Copenhagen Business School, Denmark and Cranfield School of Management, UK have pegged their tuition fee at $45,000.

    admin-ajax The Copenhagen MBA class is 90% international. In 2014, 80% of the MBA class stayed and found roles in Denmark after graduation; drawn by Scandinavia’s focus on sustainable business practices, flat hierarchies and work-life balance.

    Cranfield, located on a former RAF base in eastern England, boasts a global network of over 28,000 alumni in more than 130 countries. It also offers an MBA Defense, an executive program specific for military officers and defense industry professionals.

    The Hult International Business School, London has pegged its tuition fee at $63,000. It has two campuses at Bloomsbury and in the heart of London’s tech startup scene.
